The Lord Jesus Christ! The One Who fully atoned for the sins of His people, the Lamb "in the midst of the throne", Whom every created being worships:
Revelation 5:8 - 14 - And when He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, having each one a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to break its seals; for Thou wast slain, and didst purchase for God with Thy blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation." And Thou hast made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth." And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing." AND EVERY CREATED THING which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, AND TO THE LAMB, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever."And the four living creatures kept saying, "Amen." And the elders fell down and WORSHIPED.
Who is the Lamb? He is the One also called the Lion of the tribe of Judah, He is the Rock of God's people, He is the First and the Last, He is the only Savior of the true Israel, He is the Light of the world, He is the Great Judge of all men, He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, He is the Good Shepherd, He is the One Who forgives sins. What can be said of the Father which cannot be said of the Son? Identify any title, office, name or attribute appropriate only to the Eternal, Almighty God! It can be shown, by Scripture alone, that Christ Jesus the Lord possesses it in brilliant abundance!!!
Is Almighty God eternal, having no beginning nor end? Even so, on several occassions in the gospel of John, the Lord Jesus claims the Divine attribute of eternity for Himself:
John 8:24 (literal translation) - I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM, you shall die in your sins.
John 8:58 - Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM."
John 13:19 (literal translation) - From now on I am telling you before it comes to pass, so that when it does occur, you may believe that I AM.
John 18:5,6 - They answered Him, "Jesus the Nazarene." He said to them, "I AM." And Judas also who was betraying Him, was standing with them. When therefore He said to them, "I AM," they drew back, and fell to the ground.
Is God described as omnipresent in Scripture? Indeed, for:
Jeremiah 23:24 - "Can a man hide himself in hiding places, So I do not see him?" declares the Lord. "Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?" declares the Lord.
Psalm 139:7 - 10 - Where can I go from Thy Spirit? Or where can I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend to heaven, Thou art there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, Thou art there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Thy hand will lead me, And Thy right hand will lay hold of me.
Likewise, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who does not lie, said:
Matthew 18:20 - For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst.
Matthew 28:20 - ...teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Yes, the Lord Jesus Christ has been, is, and always will be truly present with millions of human beings who love and worship Him, all at the same time! He can be omnipresent because the Lord Jesus Christ is God Almighty!!!
Following are yet more titles, offices, names or attributes of God alone which Scripture gives to our glorious Lord, Jesus Christ!
Deuteronomy 10:17 - For the Lord your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality, nor take a bribe.
So it is said of Christ, the Lamb Who takes away the sin of the world:
Revelation 17:14 - These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.
Revelation 19:16 - And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."
Through his prophet, Yahweh speaks of His own piercing:
Zechariah 12:10 - And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him, like the bitter weeping over a first-born.
Noting the first and second person pronouns used interchangeably above, now read what the New Testament prophet and apostle, John, says of Jesus:
Revelation 1:7 - Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so. Amen.
Does the Psalmist name the God of Israel as Redeemer? Judge for yourself:
Psalm 130:7 - O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is lovingkindness, and with Him is abundant redemption.
Even so, the New Testament says it of our God and Savior, Christ Jesus:
Titus 2:13,14 - ...looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
It is inconceivable that an honest student of the Scriptures could fail to see the abundant testimony in the Bible to Jesus' Deity. Perhaps it is with some today as it was of the brothers of the rich man in Jesus' parable...
